THE LEVERIAN // ALCOVE 04 · Necromancer — the hand that raises the dead

Nekros

The reaper of the arsenal — a frame that turns the dead into loot, shields, and soldiers, harvested, fittingly, from a thing grown out of Orokin corpses.

The Reaper

Nekros carries no quest and no exhibit. Where the frames with told histories arrive wearing a story, he arrives wearing only his function: the roster's necromancer, a manipulator of the dead who punches the soul out of the living, terrifies soldiers into flight, wrings extra spoils from corpses, and raises shadow-copies of the slain to fight at his side. His character is his hand, and his hand is death made useful.

There is one grim symmetry the archive cannot leave unremarked. A Tenno does not find Nekros; a Tenno cuts him out of Lephantis — an Infested horror grown from a mass of Orokin dead in the old Derelicts, on the moon now called Deimos. The frame that reaps the dead is itself reaped from the dead. (The connection to Deimos is coincidence of place, not lineage; Nekros is no Entrati, and the archive does not pretend otherwise.)

What Ballas made of fear

The one voice canon lends Nekros belongs to Executor Ballas, narrating the frame's Prime reveal. He casts Nekros as fear itself — a power the deathless Orokin had grown too proud to remember, the simple horror of one's own name cut into a grave. It is characterization delivered by a trailer, not by a story the game ever plays, and the archive weighs it as exactly that: elegant, ownable, and outside the questline. Even so, it is the closest thing to a legend Nekros has, and the frame wears it well.
