Erra

Erra is a Sentient war-leader — son of Hunhow, brother of the Natah who became the Lotus, and by his own father's account the maker of the Archons, hybrid things raised out of the blighted battlefields where Sentient and Warframe fell together.

He is unlike his kin in small, telling ways. He walks rather than drifts. Ridges above his eyes move with his mood, as though something in his making kept the habit of a face. Two impulses organize everything he does: he wants his sister back, and he cannot stand alone. The first is the more sympathetic. The second is the more consequential, and it is the sister herself who finally says so out loud.

The oldest scene the archive holds of him is set on Lua during the Old War, while Hunhow himself breaks the Orokin moon overhead. Below, among Reservoirs and Orokin dead, Erra takes a wounded Dax by the head, and a voice behind him orders him to let her go.

What follows is grief, not strategy. He tells his sister that the Makers have caught her and unravelled her mind, that they have made her a queen of aphids with her eye in the Void, that he is the only family she has left. He asks her to choose: our family, our people — or these parasites. She answers that she is not Natah, that she is the Lotus, and the Tenno at her side burn him with Void light.

The archive marks a contradiction here and refuses to settle it. Natah remembers that she ordered him destroyed on Lua and that he died. Erra says her aphids only wounded him, that his forces were collapsing, and that he retreated in failure. He is a proven liar. Her memory is provably damaged. No source adjudicates between them, and this record will not pretend to.

Aboard the Sentient mothership Praghasa, Erra parades a captive on a leash — Ballas, the Maker, brought low. It is the proof he offers his sister that the old order is finished and that she may safely come home.

When Natah presses him on Lua, and then looks at the thing kneeling beside him and asks whether it is one of them, he stops arguing. He seizes her, throws her onto a pedestal, seals her in a field of energy, and says only that she must finish the war. Then he lets go of the leash, and Ballas simply stands up.

The captivity was theatre, staged for an audience of one. It is the cleanest measure of him the record has: the tenderness toward his sister is genuine, and it ends at the exact moment it becomes an obstacle.

He opened the war himself, sending a Murex fleet into the Veil Proxima to loose Condrix on Earth — the old Orokin heartland. When the invasion proper comes, he says the same three words twice, in two places, to two people who have every reason to fear him. At Cetus he lifts the Excalibur mask from an Ostron child's face as a Murex falls into the Unum's tower. On the Plains he stops a Grineer soldier's bomb. Don't be afraid. It is benediction used as an instrument of conquest, and he appears to mean it sincerely both times.

Of the alliance ranged against him he is merely contemptuous — a slapdash thing making a feeble last stand. Of his sister he is worse. Asked whether any Lotus remains inside Natah, he answers that it has been dying all along, a tumour scorched out of its rotting hole. Aboard Praghasa he works beside Ballas to break Teshin with a Narmer Veil, goading the old Dax to call out, to summon his devil, to give her justice. When Teshin tears the veil off instead, Erra crushes his helmet and files him for the reject pile.

The Sentients win. The system falls under Narmer — Ballas at its head, Erra his second, the veils on every face, and three revived Archons of Erra's own making keeping order.

His father comes to him with a warning: Ballas is not one of us, he is a parasite, he is using you. Erra answers with a century of Hunhow's failures and the one fact Narmer has that his father never delivered — victory. Then Ballas, enraged by the Tenno's return, orders the fleet gathered so that Praghasa can devour the sun and carry him to Tau, spending every Sentient in the doing.

Erra turns. He destroys a Typholyst, surrenders himself to the Tenno boarding the mothership, and admits that his father was right and that it is far too late. He guides them toward the last Archon, and holds a collapsing corridor open behind them, saying that its power might yet make her whole again. The Tenno thank him.

The archive records precisely what the account shows and no more: a corridor closing over him. No body. No line confirming a death. What follows is why that distinction matters.

Narmer outlived Ballas. The thing at its head now is Pazuul, called the Ram: an Archon Shard driven through both eye sockets of a horned skull, and that skull mounted on Erra's dead body. A Grineer soldier describes it without ceremony — the body is a dead worm, the head is an animal's.

The Ram was itself a Sentient Beast, once the leader of Boreal, Amar and Nira, made as peacekeepers for Tau. Which produces the record's cruellest arrangement: the Archons Erra built out of the Old War's dead now help hold their own maker's mind down. The Lotus states the arithmetic plainly — that Boreal serves only the Ram and cares nothing for the twisted servant carrying him, the being she once called brother, and that destroying the Archons may yet let her brother's mind come clear.

She also delivers the epitaph. Despite his pride, Erra never could stand alone: used first by their father, then by Ballas, and now puppeted by the thing wearing him. Sometimes a voice surfaces through Pazuul that sounds like remorse, apologising to the Tenno for seeing the truth too late. Whether that is Erra reaching through the Ram or the Ram using what it knows of him, no source decides, and neither will this record. Nor does anything confirm that he can be brought back. The Lotus only hopes so, which is not the same thing.
